Student and faculty participants who are traveling by air should schedule the transportation into and out of the Colorado Springs Airport. Direct flights to Colorado Springs from major airline hubs such as Chicago, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Salt Lake City (among others) are available on the major airlines that most Rheology participants will use. A "commuter flight" from Denver can easily be avoided and the cost of flights routed directly in to Colorado Springs can commonly be equal or less than those requiring a connection in Denver.
Transportation from the Colorado Springs Airport to Colorado College will be provided in white vans marked with the Colorado College emblem. On this web site, a description of the site for pickup and a listing of departure times will be provided.
Participants arriving in Denver will need to make their own arrangements for ground transportation to Colorado College in Colorado Springs.
Ground Travel - Directions
From Denver and points North: Travel South on I-25 approximately 65 miles to Colorado Springs. Take the Uintah Avenue exit EAST (interstate exit 143). Go 0.4 miles to Cascade Avenue; turn right. Go slow; you have arrived. A stone monument in the Cascade Avenue median is carved with the words "Colorado College". Go one short block and turn right next to an elongate campus quadrangle. Go right again, then left, wending your way through small parking areas toward the Western Ridge apartments, which are 3-story, light-colored stucco buildings that face west toward Pikes Peak. Park and make your way to the west-facing terrace plaza in the center of the Western Ridge apartments. The accommodation to be used for the Summer School, J.L. Knight Hall, forms the north side of the terrace area.
From Albuquerque and points South: Travel North on I-25 to Colorado Springs. Take exit 143 / Uintah Street East, and follow the directions above.
